The Heartbreaker Tour with Heart and Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience started last week in Florida and it does feature both bands performing together. The tour came together after Bonham joined Ann and Nancy Wilson last December in Washington, D.C. in tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors.
After opening the show, Bonham and his guitarist come back out at the end to join Heart on “Battle of Evermore,” “The Song Remains the Same,” “Rain Song,” “The Ocean,” “Kashmir” and, along with a choir, “Stairway to Heaven.”
Seeing the Wilson sisters and Bonham do “Stairway to Heaven” at the Kennedy Center Honors was quite a moment for Robert Plant, who recently said, “I just couldn’t believe that song had anything to do with this 64-year-old man that was sitting next to John Paul Jones [and Jimmy Page]. I thought to myself, ‘This is me…how did this happen?’”
The Heartbreaker Tour is in Virginia Beach Monday night. It runs through August 31st in Heart’s hometown of Seattle.
Jimmy Page took in the June 14th London show by Lez Zeppelin, an all-girl Led Zeppelin tribute band. Afterwards he went backstage to say hello.
